Azerbaijan Revises Excise Rates for Imported Gasoline and Diesel

Baku: Excise rates for excisable goods imported into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been amended, APA reports. According to the decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, for motor gasoline, excluding aviation gasoline, with a lead content not exceeding 0.013 g/l and an octane number below 95, the excise rate is set at 200 manats per ton (from May 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 - 1.0 manat); for motor gasoline, excluding aviation gasoline, with a lead content exceeding 0.013 g/l and an octane number below 95, the excise rate is set at 200 manats per ton (from May 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 - 1.0 manat); for other gas oils, including diesel fuel, the excise rate is set at 80 manats per ton (from May 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 - 1.0 manat).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision temporarily reduces the excise tax on imported AI-92 gasoline and diesel fuel to 1 manat per ton from May 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. This measure aims to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market and maintain an uninterrupted supply.

Additionally, an upper limit of 205,000 tons and 201,000 tons has been set respectively for AI-92 gasoline and diesel fuel imported by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic during the specified period.
