According to Kremlin, negotiations will be held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on February 22.

Discussion of all complex issues for future development of bilateral relations in political, economic-trade, and humanitarian fields is considered in negotiations.

In addition, the development of realization of agreements, dated November 9 (November 10) 2020, January 11, and November 26, 2021, of Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian leaders on Karabakh , as well as measures to restore economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus will be discussed in the meeting.

As a result of talks, the signing of a Declaration on the alliance between Azerbaijan and Russia is considered.

According to APA, news on President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Russia is not new, it has been planned for a long time.

Preparations were underway to sign a document between Azerbaijan and Russia similar to the Shusha Declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey in June 2021. Work in this regard began in early 2021.

In his New Year’s address to the nation at the end of 2021, President Ilham Aliyev also announced that Russian-Azerbaijani relations would step to a new level.

Therefore, the signing of an alliance document between Russia and Azerbaijan is not a new issue.
