Baku: In January-February of this year, Azerbaijan’s chemical industry, pharmaceutical products, and rubber and plastic manufacturing sectors produced goods worth AZN 363.9 million.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this information was reported in the monthly report of the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, the production of pharmaceutical products increased by 21.4%, and chemical industry products grew by 11.4% compared to the same period last year. However, the production of rubber and plastic materials declined by 3.6%.
The report also notes that polyethylene production rose by 22.5%, ethylene by 12.9%, and propylene by 5.6%. Despite these gains, the production of rigid plastic pipes, tubes, fittings, and hoses decreased by 11.8%, while polyethylene bags and sacks saw a 37.6% decline.
