Azerbaijan Sees Over 12% Rise in Chemical Industry Production

Baku: In the first seven months of this year, Azerbaijan’s chemical industry, pharmaceutical products sector, and the manufacture of rubber and plastic goods collectively saw a significant increase in production, with output valued at 1306.2 million manats. This information comes from a monthly report by the State Statistical Committee, as cited by APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the production of pharmaceutical products surged by 81.3% compared to the same period last year. The production of chemical industry products increased by 10.7%, while the manufacture of rubber and plastic goods rose by 5.3%.

During the reporting period, specific chemical industry products showed notable growth. Polyethylene production increased by 9.2%, paint and varnish products by 6.5%, ethylene production by 8.1%, and urea production by 1.9%. Additionally, the production of ethyl alcohol experienced a substantial rise of 148.6%, and adhesives and adhesive substances grew by 161.9%.

The report also provided detailed data on various chemical products. For instance, inert gases production was up by 5.1%, with a finished product inventory of 29 thousand cubic meters. Nitrogen production increased by 1.8%, and organic chemicals production slightly decreased by 3.1%. Despite some declines, such as inorganic chemicals decreasing to 70% compared to last year, the overall growth within the sector is evident.

In summary, Azerbaijan’s chemical industry has demonstrated robust growth across several product categories, reflecting an upward trend in industrial production within the country.
