Baku: Azerbaijan welcomed 337,300 tourists in the first two months of 2026, marking a 0.4 percent decrease compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the data released by the State Statistical Committee showed that 23.2% of the visitors were from the Russian Federation, followed by 21.1% from Trkiye, and 9.0% from Iran. Other notable sources of tourists included Georgia, India, and Pakistan, with 5.0%, 4.6%, and 3.7% respectively. The statistics also revealed that 72.0% of the arrivals were men, while women accounted for 28.0%.
The report highlighted a 26.4% increase in visitors from European Union member states, totaling 13,900 individuals. In contrast, arrivals from the Gulf countries fell by 10.9% to 55,300, while tourists from CIS countries rose by 3.4% to 111,100. Other regions saw a marginal decline of 0.7%, with 157,000 arrivals.
