Azerbaijan Sees Slight Decrease in Foreign Nationals Residing Legally in 2025

Baku: In 2025, Azerbaijan was home to 184,419 foreign nationals residing legally, as reported by APA. This figure was part of the broader 'Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,' which was presented during the latest session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the report highlighted a minor decrease from the previous year, where 184,835 foreign nationals were documented as living legally in Azerbaijan in 2024. This slight decline reflects a nuanced shift in the demographics of foreign nationals in the country.

Additionally, the report provided insights into the operations of the State Migration Service during the reporting period. It was revealed that a total of 941,400 applications were processed, covering various aspects such as registration at place of residence, extension of temporary stay, and acquisition or renewal of temporary and permanent residence permits, work permits, refugee status, citizenship, and readmission, among other concerns.

Notably, 330,500 of these applications were processed via electronic migration services, suggesting a significant shift towards digital solutions in managing migration-related processes.
