Baku: Azerbaijan imported a total of 1,509,802 smartphones in 2024, amounting to a value of USD 439,952,000.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these figures represent a significant increase compared to the previous year, with a rise of 19.2% or 242,763 units in quantity and 31.6% or USD 105.6 million in value. In 2023, the country imported 1,267,000 smartphones valued at USD 334,346,800.
The average import price for a smartphone in 2024 was AZN 495.4, compared to AZN 448.6 the year before. The primary sources for these imports were China, Vietnam, India, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. China led the imports with 1,200,754 units priced at AZN 476.7 each. Vietnam followed with 229,799 units at AZN 582.5 per unit, and India supplied 74,658 units at AZN 450 each. The United States and the United Arab Emirates contributed 3,225 and 416 units, respectively, with higher average prices per unit.
Additionally, Azerbaijan exported 1,203 smartphones valued at USD 225,500 during the same period. The exported smartphones primarily reached Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Hong Kong, with an average export price of AZN 318.6 per unit.
