Baku: In September, Azerbaijan’s border authorities seized contraband valued at 8.6 million Azerbaijani manats as part of their efforts to combat the illegal trade of narcotic substances. The State Border Service’s Press Center reported the confiscation of 685 kilograms and 575 grams of narcotics, in addition to 5,960 pills classified as potent narcotic substances.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the anti-smuggling operations also resulted in the discovery and seizure of various contraband items, including pharmaceuticals, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products. The total value of the seized contraband amounted to 8,629,755 Azerbaijani manats, reflecting the ongoing efforts of Azerbaijani authorities to curtail illegal activities at the nation’s borders.
