Baku: Azerbaijan has been chosen to host the General Assembly of the International Association of Judges in 2025, following a decision made during the 66th annual meeting of the association in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the selection was made despite objections from the Armenian and French delegations. The Union of Judges of Azerbaijan had officially requested to host the event in Baku, aligning with the charter conditions of the organization. The final decision was reached through a secret voting process.

The meeting also featured a presentation aimed at showcasing Azerbaijan’s attributes. A video highlighted the country’s natural beauty, historical landmarks, cultural heritage, and ethical values. Additionally, it provided insights into Azerbaijan’s judicial system and the ongoing reforms, particularly emphasizing the activities of the Azerbaijan Judges’ Union.
