Baku: Fines are being established for the import, export, production, wholesale and retail sale, as well as storage for the sale of electronic cigarettes and their components.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this development is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which will be discussed at the meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building to be held today.
The draft stipulates that from April 1, goods that are the direct object of an administrative offense related to the import, export, production, wholesale and retail sale of electronic cigarettes and their components, and their storage for the purpose of sale, will be confiscated. Individuals found guilty of these offenses will face fines ranging from three hundred and fifty to five hundred manats. Additionally, officials may be fined between one thousand six hundred and fifty to two thousand two hundred manats, while legal entities could incur fines from four thousand to five thousand manats.
It should be noted that, in accordance with amendments to the law 'On Tobacco and Tobacco Products,' from April 1, the import, export, production, storage, wholesale and retail sale, and use of electronic cigarettes and their components will be prohibited.
