BAKU – Azerbaijan and the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) finalized a significant agreement on Thursday, setting the stage for the upcoming COP29 climate conference scheduled for November in Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Host Country Agreement was signed by COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev and Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC. This agreement marks the culmination of preparations for COP29, ensuring that the conference will be accessible, inclusive, and transparent. It also reflects Azerbaijan’s dedication to creating a platform where the needs and priorities of all participants are acknowledged and integrated into the discussions.
