Istanbul: Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov engaged in significant discussions with his counterparts from Trkiye and Moldova during the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meetings focused on expanding strategic energy partnerships and evaluating new projects aimed at enhancing energy security and cooperation.

In the meeting with Trkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the growing strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Trkiye. They discussed the contribution of oil and gas projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) to regional energy security. The talks also included discussions on strengthening cooperation in the electricity sector, with a particular focus on transmitting electricity from Azerbaijan to Trkiye and Europe via Nakhchivan and Georgia, as well as from Central Asia through the Zangezur Corridor.

The recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in Energy Efficiency in Buildings between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy and Trkiye's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change was highlighted as a testament to the expanding energy relations between the two nations. Minister Alparslan Bayraktar also confirmed his participation in the upcoming Baku Energy Week.

In a separate meeting with Moldova's Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, the importance of pipelines in stabilizing gas supply under current energy conditions was underscored. The discussions covered ongoing reforms in the energy sectors of both countries and explored opportunities for cooperation in various energy areas. Moldovan Minister Dorin Junghietu also confirmed his attendance at Baku Energy Week, further solidifying the collaborative efforts between Azerbaijan and Moldova.
