Baku: Azerbaijan has supplied Greece with 5.6 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas to date, according to Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov. During a meeting with Maria K. Papakonstantinou, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, the importance of energy cooperation between the two nations was underscored.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on gas supplies through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and highlighted the benefits such as diversification, favorable pricing, environmental protection, and reinforcing Greece's position as an energy hub. Last year alone, Azerbaijan exported 1.1 bcm of gas to Greece, contributing to a total of 5.6 bcm since the TAP began operations.

The discussions also covered the potential to expand successful energy partnerships into other sectors, including green energy, energy efficiency, and innovative technologies. Both parties considered holding the next Joint Commission meeting on Economic, Industrial, and Technological Cooperation in Athens.

Additionally, Azerbaijan extended an invitation to Greece to participate with a large delegation in the upcoming "Baku Energy Week" events.
