Azerbaijan Takes Over Chairmanship of PUIC from Indonesia

Baku: Azerbaijan has assumed the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) member states. This transition of leadership was confirmed during the official opening ceremony of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, will serve as the chair of the PUIC. The chairmanship was previously held by Indonesia, marking a significant shift in leadership within the organization.

The PUIC serves as a collaborative platform for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss and address parliamentary issues concerning the Islamic world. The transition to Azerbaijan marks a new chapter in the PUIC's efforts to foster cooperation among its member nations.
