Baku - In a recent operation, Azerbaijani border troops intercepted 29 kilograms of marijuana and 1,488 methadone M-40 pills being smuggled from Iran. The operation was part of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to secure its borders and combat drug trafficking.
According to Azeri-Press Agency, the contraband was seized during searches by the "Lankaran" and "Horadiz" border detachments. The "Lankaran" team discovered 16 kilograms of marijuana and all the methadone pills on August 26, while the "Horadiz" detachment found 12 kilograms of marijuana on August 30. These actions underscore Azerbaijan's commitment to maintaining national security and preventing illegal drug flow across its borders.
