Baku: Azerbaijan plans to allocate 77 million manats from the Unemployment Insurance Fund in 2026 to enhance self-employment opportunities for its citizens. This was announced by Musa Guliyev, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy, during a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committees on Labor and Social Policy and Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship. The meeting focused on discussing the ‘2026 State Budget Package of the Republic of Azerbaijan.’
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the allocation aims to integrate 8,000 people into the self-employment program using the fund’s resources. Additionally, an agreement with the World Bank will see another 7,000 individuals participating in self-employment initiatives. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to support employment and economic development in the country.
