Baku: The construction of the Horadiz-Aghband highway and railway is planned to be completed within the next year, said Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev at the trilateral meeting of government representatives of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran held in Baku. This announcement marks a significant development in the region’s transport infrastructure.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev emphasized that the new transport infrastructure will not only create a new branch of the East-West and North-South international transport corridors but will also serve as a new route connecting the Persian Gulf with the Black Sea. This strategic development is expected to enhance regional connectivity and trade.

Shahin Mustafayev also highlighted the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, noting that since 2022, the volume of cargo transportation through this corridor has increased by approximately 90 percent. Additionally, transit times along the corridor have significantly decreased, further boosting its efficiency and appeal for international trade.
