Azerbaijan to Consider Legislative Changes on Religious Affairs, Says Parliament Committee Chairman


Baku: Azerbaijan is set to deliberate significant changes to its legislation on religious matters, as announced by Fazil Mustafa, the chairman of the Committee for Public Associations and Religious Institutions of the Milli Majlis. Mustafa, speaking during a committee meeting, highlighted the recent adoption of a progressive law on “Political Parties” and stressed the need for discussions on its implementation and requirements.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mustafa emphasized the necessity for substantial amendments in the legislation concerning the religious situation in the country. He announced plans for a hearing on this matter within the committee and revealed intentions to conduct mobile hearings in Ganja and Nakhchivan to address the current religious situation in these regions.
