Azerbaijan to Define Key Guarantees for Prioritizing Children’s Best Interests

Baku: The main guarantees of the primacy of the interests of children are being determined, APA reports. This initiative is reflected in the new draft Law 'On the Rights of the Child,' which was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children's Affairs.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, state bodies and local self-government bodies are required to prioritize children's rights and freedoms in their activities and create conditions for ensuring these rights and freedoms. Additionally, normative legal acts of the Republic of Azerbaijan and decisions of state bodies must align with the best interests of the child, ensuring their implementation does not harm children's life, development, or upbringing.
