Azerbaijan to Enable Remote SIMA Signature Acquisition for Foreign Citizens

Baku: Azerbaijan is set to allow foreign citizens to obtain a SIMA signature remotely, with the service currently in the testing phase. “Technical preparations have already begun for foreign citizens to obtain a SIMA signature,” stated Tamerlan Mashadihasanli, Head of the Product and Services Department at AzInTelecom, during his presentation at the 9th Banking Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mashadihasanli explained that once the service is launched, citizens from European, Asian, and African countries will be able to register without traveling to Azerbaijan. They can do so by simply downloading the SIMA application and using their passport or national ID card. He emphasized that the product is currently undergoing tests, and after successful trials, it will be available for use in a fully functional form.
