Azerbaijan to Enforce New Fines for Online Prostitution-Related Activities

Baku: Azerbaijan has introduced fines for individuals making open calls to engage in prostitution or conducting related transactions via social media platforms. This development is part of the country's ongoing efforts to regulate online activities and address illegal content on the internet.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these measures are included in recent amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which were approved by President Ilham Aliyev. The new Article 524.2 specifies that a fine of 500 manats will be imposed on those found guilty of publicly promoting or engaging in prostitution-related transactions through internet information resources or telecommunication networks.

The amendments reflect Azerbaijan's commitment to maintaining order and curbing illegal activities in the digital space, aligning with global trends of tightening regulations on online platforms.
