Azerbaijan to Enhance Private Sector’s Access to State Information Systems

Baku:Azerbaijan is set to broaden the accessibility of data generated by state information systems to the private sector, as announced by Shahin Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. This announcement was made at the "Digital Financial Ecosystem A New Stage in Governance" conference held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Aliyev emphasized that the integration of state information systems should not only facilitate data exchange among state institutions but also allow private companies to leverage these capabilities in the future.

Aliyev highlighted that the current data exchange between state institutions is conducted through the Electronic Government Information System. The next phase aims to provide similar integration opportunities for the private sector, enabling technology companies to develop artificial intelligence-based solutions and automate enterprise processes.

The agency is also working on establishing a national data space in Azerbaijan. This initiative is expected to ensure secure data exchange, accelerate data-driven decision-making, and enhance the efficiency of public services. Aliyev noted that the focus areas for digital development include the digitalization of public services, the application of artificial intelligence, fostering an innovation ecosystem, and ensuring cybersecurity.
