Baku: Azerbaijan is set to expand its use of satellite data in the field of statistics as part of a new state program draft for the development of official statistics for the years 2026-2030. This development was announced by Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, Vahab Mammadov, during the 3rd International Statistics Forum held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadov highlighted that a key outcome of ongoing reforms is the complete transition of official statistics to an electronic format. He explained that the processes of collecting, processing, and disseminating data are now conducted entirely in digital format. This transition has led to a significant reduction in paper document circulation, speeding up processes, and increasing the accessibility of statistical data for users. The adoption of electronic technologies has enhanced the transparency, convenience, and reliability of the statistical system. Data dissemination has moved from traditional publications and printed compilations to modern digital solutions, allowing users to independently create tables and graphs. This approach ensures transparency and ease of use, making statistics more accessible to society.
