Baku: In order to stimulate the flow of tourists to the regions of Azerbaijan, it is planned to improve the transport accessibility of key tourist destinations and tourism information services, as well as introduce mechanisms facilitating the organization and planning of tourist trips, APA-Economics reports. This initiative is part of the 'State Program for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030,' approved by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated August 20, 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Action Plan aims to enhance transport accessibility for key tourist destinations in the regions, focusing on high-quality road, bus, and railway connections. Additionally, it seeks to improve conditions for organizing trips to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The plan includes integrating railway ticket sales into the Global Distribution System (GDS) and creating various ticket packages for tourists, offering discounted options for different destinations.
Furthermore, the Action Plan emphasizes the importance of expanding tourism information services in the regions. This measure aims to ensure efficient use of tourism resources, enhance accessibility, and improve passenger transportation services across the regions. It is also anticipated that these efforts will lead to better conditions for organizing air travel to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, ultimately increasing the number of visitors to these areas.
