Baku: Azerbaijan is planning to initiate an information exchange on cyber-fraud cases with Central Asian countries, as announced by Akif Baghirov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. This announcement was made during his speech at the 9th International Banking Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Baghirov highlighted the operational status of the centralized cybersecurity incident management system known as FinCERT. This system is designed to calculate damages caused to financial institutions, create a historical database of fraud incidents, and facilitate information sharing on a unified platform.

Baghirov underscored that the launch of FinCERT not only strengthens internal coordination on cybersecurity but also opens up new avenues for regional cooperation. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan is taking steps to establish an information exchange on cyber-fraud cases with Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan, marking an initial move towards regional collaboration in combating cyber threats.
