Baku: A Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories will be established, APA reports. This initiative was discussed during a session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), where proposed amendments to the Housing Code were deliberated.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft law specifies that residential premises within the Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories will be classified as special-purpose housing stock. These units are designated for the relocation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to permanent residences in the liberated territories, with subsequent transfer of ownership to them.
The process for relocating IDPs to these residential premises and transferring ownership will be managed by an institution designated by the relevant executive authority. The amendments to the Housing Code aim to create a new institution, the Permanent Resettlement Fund in the Liberated Territories, to facilitate the resettlement and ownership transfer to IDPs.
The draft law was subjected to a vote and successfully adopted in its first reading.
