Azerbaijan to Evacuate Diplomatic Staff from Tehran and Tabriz

Baku: Instructions have been issued regarding the evacuation of staff from Azerbaijan's embassy in Tehran and the Consulate General in Tabriz, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press conference with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Pop?oi, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision to withdraw the diplomatic staff from Iran was made based on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev. The evacuation applies to both the embassy in Tehran and the Consulate General in Tabriz. Work is currently underway to implement these instructions. Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the safety of their personnel is a priority and that the situation will be closely monitored. The Azerbaijani government will await the results of the Iranian investigation into the recent drone attacks before making further decisions.
