Baku: Azerbaijan is on track to meet the objectives tied to the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP29), set to take place in Baku this November, according to Interior Minister Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov.

According to Trend News Agency, at a ministry’s board meeting on October 17, Eyvazov highlighted the systematic execution of tasks leading up to COP29. ‘The tasks associated with the COP29 event are being systematically executed according to a designated plan, and preparations for this significant international event are ongoing,” he stated. Azerbaijan’s readiness to host such a significant international gathering underscores its commitment to global climate change initiatives.

The decision to host COP29 in Azerbaijan was made at the COP28 plenary meeting in Dubai on December 11 last year. The event is expected to attract about 70-80,000 foreign guests to Baku, positioning the city as a focal point for global climate discussions.
