Azerbaijan to Host COP29, Prime Minister Highlights Country’s Growing Global Prestige


BAKU—Azerbaijan will host the COP29 international environmental summit in November, marking a significant milestone in the country’s expanding global influence.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Prime Minister Ali Asadov discussed the importance of COP29 during the recent Cabinet meeting on the 2025 state and summary budgets and the economic and social development forecasts for the next three years. The Prime Minister expressed confidence in Azerbaijan’s capability to organize the event successfully, emphasizing the government’s cohesive and dedicated approach to the summit’s preparations. He noted that the event is not only a reflection of Azerbaijan’s enhanced international prestige but also a testament to its operational excellence in managing major global events.



Members of the Azerbaijani government, who are part of the organizing committee, have been assigned specific responsibilities by their respective ministries to ensure the summit’s success. The Prime Minister’s remarks underscored the strategic importance of COP29 in promoting environmental concerns on an international stage, aligned with Azerbaijan’s commitment to global ecological issues.
