Baku:President Ilham Aliyev met with Alexander Ospelt, President of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, to discuss Azerbaijan's growing role in international winter sports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting highlighted Azerbaijan's successful track record in hosting international sports events, including winter sports competitions and Formula 1 races in Baku.

Both leaders acknowledged the modern winter sports infrastructure developed in Azerbaijan and announced that several prestigious competitions would be held at the Shahdag Tourism Center under the Federation's auspices.

The discussion also covered the impact of a partnership agreement signed last year between the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, aimed at enhancing the country's winter tourism and sports capabilities.

Prospects for further cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Federation were also explored during the meeting.
