Baku: Azerbaijan will hold innovation competitions aimed at enhancing the tourism industry in the country, with selected pilot projects to be provided with necessary support, as outlined in the State Program for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the initiative will be implemented by Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as the Ministry of Economy. The program will receive support during the 2027-2029 period.

The first phase of the initiative will focus on identifying the innovation needs of the tourism industry and developing the rules for conducting the innovation competition, along with the selection criteria. The subsequent phase involves designing the financing framework necessary for the tourism innovations.
