Azerbaijan to Implement Incentives for Foreign Film Producers

Baku: In Azerbaijan, incentives are being established for foreign producers related to film production, APA reports. This initiative is part of the proposed amendments to the Law 'On Cinematography,' which were discussed at the recent meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Culture.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft law includes implementing incentive measures to attract foreign producers to produce films in Azerbaijan. A key component of this support involves the partial reimbursement of expenses incurred during the production of foreign and co-produced films. This reimbursement will follow a procedure and conditions set by the designated body under the relevant executive authority.

The draft law defines a foreign producer as a producer who is a foreign citizen, a stateless person, or a foreign legal entity. These incentives aim to boost Azerbaijan's appeal as a destination for international filmmakers by minimizing production costs through financial support.
