Baku:Azerbaijan is set to introduce new regulations for the registration of foreign diplomats and their families, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, these changes are reflected in an amendment to the Migration Code discussed during a recent meeting of the Milli Majlis. The amendment specifies that foreign or stateless members of diplomatic missions, consulates, and international organizations, along with their families, will need to register with the relevant executive authority if they stay in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days.
Currently, these individuals are required to obtain an official visit visa, and their stay duration is determined by the visa's validity. The amendment aims to clarify the list of individuals affected and improve the digital services for issuing registration cards. The registration process will utilize the interagency automated information-search system 'Entry-Exit and Registration,' linking to the Unified Migration Information System. The amendment was voted on and adopted in its first reading.
