Azerbaijan to Join International Convention on Ship Anti-Fouling Systems

Baku: Azerbaijan is set to join the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-Fouling Systems on Ships, APA reports. This development was highlighted during a discussion at the meeting of the Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Connections of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft concerning Azerbaijan's accession to the convention was a key topic at the committee meeting. The convention aims to regulate and manage the use of harmful anti-fouling systems on vessels, which are coatings applied to ship hulls to prevent marine organism growth. By joining the convention, Azerbaijan aligns itself with international efforts to minimize environmental impacts caused by these systems.
