Baku: Excise taxes on tobacco products in Azerbaijan will see an increase starting next year, as reported by APA. This adjustment is part of the amendments to the Tax Code, recently approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the new tax rates will affect a variety of tobacco products. The excise rate for products intended for inhalation without combustion, which contain tobacco or reconstituted tobacco, will rise from 16 manats to 25.5 manats per 1,000 units. This change applies to both domestic production and imports.
For other types of smoking tobaccos, excluding those intended for manufacturing purposes, as well as homogenized or reconstituted tobacco, chewing tobacco, and snuff, the excise rate will see a significant increase. The rate for domestic production will jump from 22 manats to 162 manats per kilogram, while the rate for imports will rise from 30 manats to 170 manats per kilogram.
