Azerbaijan to Rebuild Key Areas in Lachin Region

Lachin: Azerbaijan is set to embark on reconstruction efforts in the Gorchu settlement and nearby villages including Arikli, Pirjahan, Shelvan, and Gulabird in the Lachin region. Huseyn Guliyev, an official from the Special Representation of the President of Azerbaijan in Lachin District, confirmed these developments as part of the domestic state procedures currently underway.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the planning process for these projects has already commenced. A significant feature of the plan is the utilization of the Zabukhchay water reservoir located in the Gulabird area. With an approximate capacity of 39 million cubic meters, this reservoir is intended for agricultural use and will supply irrigation water to regions connected to Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh. There are also discussions with the State Water Resources Agency to potentially convert this reservoir into a reserve for drinking water. Additionally, plans are underway for the construction of the Hakari Water Reservoir, aimed at serving as a source of potable water.
