Azerbaijan to Renew Naval Fleet with 20 New Ships, Deputy Minister Announces

BAKU: Azerbaijan is set to undergo a significant modernization of its naval fleet, with plans to introduce approximately 20 new ships in the coming years. The announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Elmin Mammadov, during the “Sustainable Transport for the Future” event.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Deputy Minister Mammadov highlighted the broader transportation upgrades underway in Azerbaijan. In addition to the naval fleet renewal, he revealed plans to equip “Baku Metro” CJSC with 35 new carriages in the coming months. Furthermore, the country’s aviation sector is also set for a major upgrade, with more than 30 modern planes to be added to its fleet. These initiatives reflect Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to enhance its transportation infrastructure.
