Azerbaijan to Require Driver’s License for Moped Use Starting in Three Months

Baku: In Azerbaijan, a new regulation will mandate that individuals possess a driver's license to operate a moped, effective in three months. This change comes as part of an amendment to the Law "On Road Traffic," which has been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendment specifies that a type A1 driver's license will be required for moped drivers. This measure aims to ensure that moped users have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate their vehicles safely on the road. The new requirement represents a significant shift in the regulation of mopeds within the country, aligning moped operation more closely with other motorized vehicles that necessitate a driver's license.
