Azerbaijan to Restrict State-Funded Tuition Support for Vulnerable Students

Baku: Azerbaijan has announced changes to its state-funded tuition support, specifically targeting socially vulnerable students. New amendments to the Law on Education, approved by President Ilham Aliyev, outline circumstances under which the state budget will cover tuition fees for these individuals.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the modifications specify that state funding will only be available for socially vulnerable students who are studying on a paid basis at educational institutions within Azerbaijan. The amendments further clarify that this financial support will not extend to those enrolled in additional education programs. This means that students participating in these extra educational pursuits will not have their tuition fees covered by the state budget.
