Azerbaijan to Review Minimum Wage Annually Under New Draft Amendment

Baku: The minimum wage in Azerbaijan will undergo an annual review, as reported by APA. This initiative is outlined in a proposed amendment to the Labor Code, which was discussed during a session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the draft amendment stipulates that the minimum wage will be reviewed at least once a year by an institution designated by the relevant executive authority. This review will be based on proposals from a body assigned by the same authority. The goal of this amendment is to ensure regular updates to the minimum wage, which serves as a crucial tool for social protection in Azerbaijan.

The proposed legislation aims to address and rectify issues that have previously caused Azerbaijan to lose points in related reports. Following a series of discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and successfully adopted in the third reading by the legislative body.
