Vienna: Azay Guliyev, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation and Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology, and Environment, addressed the joint meeting of committees titled "Human Rights as a Basis for Security" during the 25th Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna, Austria. He highlighted the new peaceful realities emerging in the South Caucasus.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azay Guliyev emphasized that following decades of conflicts, the region has entered an unprecedented era of peace and security. He noted that the Agreement on Establishment of Peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia has been initialed, the OSCE Minsk Group has been abolished, transit restrictions imposed by Azerbaijan on Armenia have been lifted, and energy product supply has been ensured.

These developments have created a new dynamic for normalization and peaceful coexistence between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Guliyev further mentioned that Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace agreement immediately after Armenia adopts its new constitution.

The MP also commended the strategic efforts of the United States in the region. He highlighted JD Vance's visit and the signing of the 'Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America' in Baku as a sign of support for regional stability. He pointed out that Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, which limits US cooperation with Azerbaijan, remains a key issue impeding bilateral relations and called for its complete abolition to align with current realities and national interests.
