Azerbaijani Aircraft Assists in Turkish Wildfire Efforts Near Izmir


BERGAMA—Azerbaijan has deployed a BE-200CS amphibious aircraft to assist in the firefighting efforts in the forest fires near Izmir, specifically in the Bergama area, under the directive of President Ilham Aliyev.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Aviation Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan has been actively participating in the operations to combat the severe wildfires in Turkey. The BE-200CS aircraft, specifically designed for such missions, has been crucial in the ongoing efforts to control the blaze that has affected large areas of forest near Izmir.



The Ministry of Emergency Situations has confirmed that the deployment is part of Azerbaijan’s commitment to aiding Turkey, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations. The efforts to extinguish the fires are ongoing, with the Azerbaijani team playing a key role in the international response to the crisis.
