Baku: An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering cooperation between the bar associations of Azerbaijan and Georgia was signed in Baku. The agreement was formalized during a visit by Irakli Kandashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, to Azerbaijan. Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Bar Association, and his Georgian counterpart Kandashvili were the signatories of this agreement.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the MoU outlines a framework for the exchange of professional expertise, methodological recommendations, and information within the legal profession. It also includes the organization of joint conferences and workshops to enhance collaboration between the two nations' legal communities.

In addition to the signing of the MoU, Irakli Kandashvili had meetings with prominent Azerbaijani officials, including Kamran Aliyev and Inam Karimov. During his interaction with Anar Baghirov, Kandashvili was informed about the activities of the Azerbaijan Bar Association and the ongoing initiatives to strengthen the advocacy institution in Azerbaijan.

Kandashvili expressed his appreciation for the cooperative relationship between the bar associations and emphasized the importance of collaboration among advocacy institutions, law enforcement bodies, and judicial authorities in both countries. His visit also included cultural and educational excursions to the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and ADA University.
