Tbilisi: Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with Georgia's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Irakli Chikovani, during an official visit to Georgia. The meeting took place as part of a broader effort to explore new avenues for cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting began with an official welcoming ceremony, where both defense ministers inspected the guard of honor. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Georgia were played, symbolizing the growing ties between the two nations.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov highlighted that military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia is expanding, indicating a strengthening of their overall bilateral relations. The discussions covered potential collaboration in military, military-technical, and military educational fields, among other areas of shared interest. Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, was also present during the talks.
In addition to the official meetings, the Azerbaijani delegation paid their respects at the Heroes Memorial in Tbilisi and visited the monument dedicated to the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people at the Heydar Aliyev Culture and Recreation Park, where they laid wreaths to honor the memory of national figures.
