Azerbaijani and Iranian Energy Ministers Discuss Key Hydropower Projects

BAKU: Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi have deliberated on significant hydropower projects, including the Khudaferin, Giz Galasi, and Ordubad Hydropower Plants. The discussions took place during a meeting in China, focusing on collaboration in energy infrastructure and regional electricity networks.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Shahbazov shared details of the meeting on his X account, highlighting the productive dialogue with Aliabadi. The ministers explored the progress and implementation of the Khudaferin and Giz Galasi hydropower projects, as well as the Ordubad Hydropower Plant. The talks also covered the coordination of electricity networks among Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia, along with potential cooperation in electricity export and establishing regional electricity relations.

The meeting underscores the ongoing efforts of Azerbaijan and Iran to strengthen their energy partnership, with a focus on leveraging regional resources and infrast
ructure to enhance electricity distribution and export capabilities.
