Azerbaijani and TRNC Presidents Discuss Strengthening Ties in Gabala

Gabala: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), in Gabala to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting took place on October 6 and focused on strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and TRNC.

President Ersin Tatar reminisced about his previous engagements with President Aliyev, highlighting their interactions in Azerbaijan and at international events. He thanked President Aliyev for his continued support towards the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In response, President Aliyev assured that Azerbaijan will persist in backing the TRNC.

During the meeting, President Tatar congratulated President Aliyev on the progress made in the peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which were advanced in Washington with the involvement of the President of the United States. President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment.

The discussion also emphasized the importance of TRNC’s participation in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) as an observer. The role of the summit held in Gabala in enhancing the partnership among OTS member countries was highlighted, along with discussions on cooperation in diverse areas.
