Ankara: Azerbaijani and Turkish archaeologists have announced plans to collaborate on exploring and promoting the Kur-Araz culture, a significant cultural heritage shared by both nations. Samir Abbasov, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Trkiye, met with a delegation of archaeologists from both countries. The delegation was led by Blent G¶nltas, Deputy Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums at Trkiye's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting also included prominent figures such as Mehmet Isikli, a professor from Atatrk University; Aynur €“zfirat and Gencay Gl§iglu, professors from Mardin Artuklu University; and Muzaffar Huseynov, an associate professor at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Discussions focused on joint projects aimed at studying the Kur-Araz culture, which holds significant historical importance for both Azerbaijan and Trkiye.
The Kur-Araz culture is recognized for its unique archaeological and historical value, reflecting the deep-rooted connections between the two nations. The collaboration aims to further understand and promote this shared cultural heritage through joint archaeological projects and research initiatives.
