Istanbul: Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Yasar Gler, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Trkiye, in Istanbul. The meeting took place during Hasanov’s visit to the city to participate in the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), as reported by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions centered on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in military affairs, military-technical collaboration, and military education. Both ministers highlighted the significance of IDEF 2025 in further reinforcing their strategic partnership.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional security and other issues of mutual interest. The session concluded with the signing of a ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Mutual Military Security.’
