Azerbaijani and Turkish Defense Ministers Discuss Regional Security Amid UAV Attacks

Ankara: Azerbaijani and Turkish defense ministers recently engaged in a telephone conversation to address regional security concerns. Trkiye's Minister of National Defense, Yasar Gler, spoke with Azerbaijani Minister of Defense, General-Colonel Zakir Hasanov, on March 5.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions focused on attacks executed by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These attacks involved the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iranian territory, targeting the Nakhchivan International Airport and other civilian infrastructures in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

The ministers also exchanged views on bilateral relations and assessed the current situation in the region, touching upon various security issues.
