TASHKENT – In a ceremony that underscored the deep cultural connections between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, renowned artists from both nations were honored with the title of ‘People’s Artist’. The ceremony took place at the Palace of Forums in Tashkent, during President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to Uzbekistan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, composer, and actor Farrukh Zakirov were the recipients of these honors. The event was attended by prominent cultural figures including Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov. The ministers read the presidential orders bestowing the titles, highlighting the significant contributions of these artists to the cultural heritage of their respective countries. The recognition serves as a testament to the enduring artistic and diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
